A taste of our clients,
their corporate team day
requirements and feedback
A team treat:
Hewlett Packard, Sept 2008
They required:
A day’s activities for a mixed ability group of 10 people incorporating a ‘tough’ walk and packed lunches
for six fit people and an easier 2 hour walk followed by fly fishing with tea or picnic lunch for more a more
‘relaxed’ group of 4 people.
We provided:
A challenging walk for the ‘tough’ group up towards the Old Man of Coniston from Torver via Tranearth and up
onto the Coniston Fells with summits in excess of 800m. The 'relaxed' group had a shorter walk towards Goats
Water in the shadow of Dow Crag looking out over Coniston Water, Grizedale Forest and beyond. The 2 groups
‘bumped’ into each other mid/late morning and stopped for morning coffee and brownies. The tough group was
provided with packed lunches to eat en-route and the relaxed group picnicked before their fishing.
Feedback:
Thank you very much [for] your expertise and marvellous organisation at the weekend, our day with yourselves
seems to have been the highlight of the trip all round, and we’re very glad that we arranged to deal with River
Deep Mountain High. I’ll be certainly bearing you in mind should I ever return to the Lake District, potentially
for something more 'thrilling' like gorge walking(!) in the future.
Price Region: £60 per person
An activity day:
Gifford, May 2008
They required:
A full day team building event for a group of 19 people, some of whom were comfortable with outdoor activities
and some with not much/any exposure. The aim was simply to build the team by having some fun together.
We provided:
A day of Gorge Walking and Raft Building with a buffet lunch and changing facilities at a local hotel.
Feedback:
Just would like to thank you for organising the day’s activities, lunch and hotel rooms on Friday, I’ve had nothing but very positive feedback! Everyone got a lot from the day, so it was a great success, if you could forward our thanks to the rest of your guys that ran the activities on Friday it would be much appreciated, thanks.
The whole day was excellent the whole team got something out of it. The split in the day was ideal.
Price region: £102 per person

A competitive and interactive team day:
Alfred McAlpine (Now Carillion), November 2007
They required:
A venue with facilities to do a day of conferencing and a day of team building activities for a new Project Team
of 25 people. Again, there was to be a mixture of people and the activities could not include anything that would
put more than a light physical demand on any one person. They wanted to do something that would be fun but get
people talking and interacting, It was also going to be in November.
We provided:
Help to find appropriate accommodation in a location that activities could be run from without the group needing
to travel. A day of activities including a half day ‘icebreaker’ team exercise (the Holiday resort exercise) that
combines archery and navigating into a fun competition between small teams and a Canoe-sailing race in slightly
larger teams from the hotel across Coniston Water to Brantwood where they enjoyed afternoon tea before returning to
the hotel.
Feedback:
Great day out!
It was an excellent day, the instructor was spot on. Not too much but enough info on safety.

individual teams within this large group gel and bond. To improve understanding of effective team skills. To
improve understanding of time management, communication and negotiation. To have fun but experience a
friendly-competitive environment. To understand their own personal strengths and weaknesses when working in team
roles.
We provided:
Day 1 afternoon - Holiday Resort Exercise.
Day 2 - Team Challenge Day based on Coniston water - a highly structured day with a number of learning aims
built in and debriefing to consolidate the team skills developed.
Day 3 - Climbing Adventure Day - group members had to conquer personal challenges as well as working together to

I must say that the work that Emma and Johan did last year was fabulous and the students talked about it for months
afterwards.

A product launch:
Navico & the Remarkable Group, June 2009

An adventure race:
Terumo, October 2008
They required:
A fun, yet competitive team event for 7 colleagues incorporating Canoeing, Walking and Mountain Biking.
We provided:
An ongoing Adventure Race in the Coniston area with all aspects of logistics and safety managed at an affordable
price.
Feedback:
Suffice to say the challenge is still discussed today within the team and results argued! On a serious note we found
the event very well organised and put together. I found I got all the advice and pointers needed to make my unusual
request for the day all work very well. When I next need to organise an event for the team in the Lakes the first
number I would call would be yours. Hopefully that day will come around soon!
