Course Details

The River Deep Mountain High Outdoor Instructor Training Course runs for 19 weeks in the Lake District with a four week break at Christmas/New year. The session runs from October to March.

This course is ideal as an alternative to University for those serious about a career in the outdoor industry, wanting to take their first step into the industry and be developed into well-rounded outdoor instructors with an excellent range of technical and soft skills.

We believe we are unique in the variety of activities we offer and the lack of travel around the country needed to do all these activities, meaning greater contact time with your Instructor / Coach and good access to log book experience in your free-time. Other than one week in Scotland all activities are within 45 minutes of our base, taking place in both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.

The programme is physically demanding and deliberately set over the winter giving more challenging conditions and will help to get a job at the beginning of the 2014 season. If you finish loving the outdoors in these conditions you know you will be fine in the summer.
